Role Summary
The Senior Systems Engineer (SE3) will be expected to possess a robust foundation in automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible, alongside proficiency in Linux systems engineering and administration. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills and the capacity to operate effectively both collaboratively and independently.
Key technical proficiencies include CentOS Linux EL7, along with a solid understanding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and System Security Plan (SSP) Management.
Qualifications
A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in systems engineering within programs and contracts of comparable scope, type, and complexity is essential. A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. Alternatively, five (5) years of additional systems engineering experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Certifications:
- CWIP Level I is required at the outset; Level II must be achieved within six months.
Core Competencies
- Extensive experience in Linux systems administration, with a strong command of command line operations and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Windows Server environments.
- Experience with SQL scripting and virtualization technologies, particularly VMWare.
- Familiarity with Puppet or a willingness to learn quickly.
- Support for SSP activities, including scanning, patching, and maintaining documentation for Authorization to Operate (ATO) processes.
- Experience in systems integration and administration.
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate self-motivation.
- Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Bamboo.
