The Business Control Officer will report directly to the Governance and Oversight Team Manager. This position is designed to provide centralized oversight and facilitate execution, offering subject matter expertise while ensuring effective management of our compliance environment in alignment with Operational Risk Management (ORM) policies and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts oversight and execution of controls, focusing on Common Controls, and collaborates with various business units to ensure timely and accurate execution in accordance with established policies.
  • Acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Common Controls, staying informed on policy changes and providing education to relevant business functions.
  • Leads the comprehensive Regulatory and Policy change process through collaboration with various stakeholders, ensuring precise execution of change management workflows.
  • Provides governance and oversight for Third-Party Risk Management, ensuring common control execution is maintained.
  • Engages with Risk and Control partners and business leaders to promote a strong culture of compliance and control.
  • Assists in achieving strategic objectives, promoting operational efficiency, and ensuring adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identifies opportunities for enhancing the control framework, focusing on efficiency gains and reducing manual processes.
  • Participates actively in Annual Risk Assessments, Internal Audits, and other projects as directed.
  • Challenges assumptions and encourages innovative decision-making based on data and insights.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in risk management and issue management is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proven capability to work cross-functionally, demonstrating leadership through influence and negotiation.
  • Analytical skills to break down complex challenges and derive meaningful conclusions.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective internal negotiation.
  • Experience with Internal Teams in Audit, Risk/Control, and Compliance departments is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Risk and Control frameworks is advantageous.
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Audit, Operational Risk Management, or Business Control is required.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is required.
  • A Master's degree is preferred.
