Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative II - Benefits/Authorizations is a key role within the Florida Orthopaedic Institute, responsible for ensuring seamless patient access to medical services. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills to obtain and document referrals and authorizations, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with primary care physicians and insurance companies to obtain referrals for office visits prior to scheduled appointments.
  • Ensure all authorizations are properly documented in the system.
  • Advise patients of potential problems concerning obtaining authorization prior to scheduled appointments.
  • Collaborate with the Billing/Collections department to research and obtain authorizations on previously denied claims.
  • Work with the Benefit Verification Rep to confirm benefits when problems occur.
  • Utilize insurance websites to obtain referrals/authorizations.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures.
About You:
  • Candidate must be a high school graduate.
  • 1 or more years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Registration, scheduling, healthcare benefits experience is helpful.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills are required.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multitask.
  • Working knowledge of Windows-based computer environment and typing skills are necessary.
