Job Summary

The Patient Access Representative II is a critical role at BJC, serving as the first point of contact for patients and families. This position requires exceptional customer service skills, emotional intelligence, and attention to detail to ensure accurate patient identification, registration, and scheduling. The ideal candidate will possess a friendly demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register and schedule patients in multiple BJC systems, ensuring accurate patient identification and demographic information.
  • Verify insurance coverage, scan and retrieve documents, and validate orders to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Provide education on financial responsibilities and collect applicable patient payments, ensuring a positive patient experience.
  • Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and respond to complex situations, anticipating patient needs and providing solutions.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Less than 2 years of experience; 2-5 years preferred.
  • CHAA certification a plus.
