We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Administrative Director to lead our team at Victoria County, TX. This key leadership role requires a strong understanding of county government, project management, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Exercise discretion and autonomy in implementing directives, priorities, policies, and objectives of the County Judge and/or Commissioners' Court.
- Facilitate and administer the annual budget process in compliance with the Local Government Code.
- Provide oversight and analysis of budget and administrative projects.
- Ensure the success of the County Judge, Commissioners Court, and act as a resource for all county departments.
- Provide oversight and direction to various county departments and staff.
- Delegate projects and tasks to departments, provide support, and hold them accountable for results.
- Work with Human Resources and the Commissioners' Court to develop and implement personnel, benefits, and incentive/recognition policies.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with county offices, departments, and community stakeholders.
- Facilitate organizational communication throughout the county and with the public.
- Manage digital media for the County Judge's Office.
- Create and develop educational/informational content for public awareness.
- Draft official statements, memos, letters, and other correspondence.
- Monitor local news and events for impact on Victoria County.
- Serve as an informed resource to stakeholders.
- Facilitate strategic planning and initiatives for the Commissioners Court.
- Facilitate budget review, preparation, management, and planning.
- Work with the Grant Administrator and Departments to identify resource needs and grant funding opportunities.
- Coordinate personnel activities with various departments and outside agencies and organizations.
- Prepare and present reports and other necessary correspondence.
- Conduct organizational reviews and recommend modifications to county departments, programs, personnel, policies, and procedures as appropriate.
- Serve as a liaison for the County Judge and/or Commissioners' Court on various boards, projects, and activities.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Communications, or other related field.
- Extensive (Over 5 years) experience required.
