About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Human Resources Operations Coordinator to join our team at the State of Connecticut. As a key member of our HR team, you will be responsible for providing professional human resources support to our agency, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, and providing exceptional service to our employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in advising agency staff on human resources policies and procedures, proper organizational structure, and job classifications.
  • Partner with DAS service delivery teams and specialized units to deliver solutions for agency human resources needs.
  • Communicate with agency managers, bargaining unit representatives, and other interested parties to ensure cooperative relationships.
  • Maintain human resource information systems within assigned agency.
  • Perform research in support of reclassification grievances, business rules questions, policy and legislative changes, training initiatives, and other human resources initiatives and projects.
Requirements
  • 6 years of professional experience in human resources management or equal employment opportunity/affirmative action or labor relations management.
  • College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of 15 semester hours equalling one half year of experience to a maximum of 4 years for a Bachelors degree.
  • A Masters degree in human resources management, labor relations, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field may be substituted for one additional year of the General Experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience collecting, analyzing, and presenting data using Microsoft Excel to formulate charts, graphs, and table format to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience administering human resources within a unionized environment.
  • Experience researching, interpreting, and applying state and federal human resources laws.
  • Experience maintaining employee records using a Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
