We are seeking a skilled GME Program Support Specialist to join our team at Howard University Hospital. As a member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the success of our GME program. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

The GME Program Support Specialist will be responsible for coordinating administrative tasks related to residency and fellowship programs, including:

  • Annual evaluations of staff members and compiling evaluation data by the semiannual review date.
  • Scheduling semiannual review meetings with each fellow and the program director.
  • Managing resident/fellow financial allowance account purchases, per the Sponsoring Institution's guidelines.
  • Reviewing Program Letters of Agreement for any changes, expirations, etc.
  • Overseeing the administration and scheduling of physician residents in a medical environment.
  • Processing residency verification requests.
  • Ensuring completion of ACGME Resident/Fellow and Faculty Surveys.
  • Ensuring that the activities of the physician residents meet the needs for training and accreditation.
  • Preparing Medicare Audit documents, per the GME Office's instructions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED required; an additional one to two years of advanced education in secretarial science is preferred.
  • A minimum three years of work experience with proven communication and organizational skills; former experience in a teaching hospital is preferred.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Office; New Innovations (technology platform) experience highly desired.
