Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Manager of Model Validation and Analysis to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware. This role is pivotal in ensuring the integrity and compliance of our analytical models.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive analyses and prepare thorough technical documentation reports for model validation, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and surpassing industry benchmarks.
  • Utilize SAS for generating portfolio loss forecasts, leveraging account-level data, model specifications, macroeconomic scenarios, and various model assumptions.
  • Employ big data technologies including Teradata, SQL, Unix, Tableau, Python, and Bit Bucket to enhance data processing and analysis.
  • Evaluate and quantify model risk stemming from limitations in models or processes, providing insights to stakeholders regarding their risk exposure and formulating compensating controls.
  • Support the entire model life cycle, encompassing model development, implementation, monitoring, validation, performance assessment, and annual reviews.
  • Generate production analytics to scrutinize and assess loss forecasts during operational runs, utilizing advanced data visualization techniques.
  • Automate routine production tasks and conduct post-implementation testing of models in a live environment.
  • Document model outcomes and effectively communicate findings to stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding.
  • Enhance the governance framework for models and address inquiries from stakeholders based on production outcomes and existing documentation.
  • Represent the organization in engagements with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance and transparency.
  • Evaluate risks associated with business decisions, demonstrating a commitment to the firm's reputation and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree or its foreign equivalent in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Information Systems, Analytical Chemistry, or a related quantitative discipline, along with a minimum of 4 years of experience in roles such as Business Analytics Consultant, SAS Developer, Programmer Analyst, or Risk Analytics Specialist focused on statistical and data analysis and credit risk models within the banking sector.

Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the aforementioned fields combined with 6 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience will be considered.


Experience Requirements:
  • Proficiency in SAS programming and familiarity with big data platforms, Teradata, SQL, Unix, Tableau, Python, and Bit Bucket.
  • Experience in implementing analytical models and assessing model risk.
  • Capability to automate routine tasks and generate analytics for model evaluation.
  • Experience in documenting model results and presenting them to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with regulatory-controlled models and project management within a global matrix structure.
