Job Description: Clinical Access Coordination


The Clinical Access Coordinator role at MaineHealth ensures that patients have been cleared for an appointment by resolving pre-certification, registration, and case-related concerns prior to their scheduled visit. This involves collaborating with various departments to guarantee seamless patient flow and efficient use of resources.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate patient scheduling, including verifying insurance coverage and obtaining necessary authorizations.
  • Resolve pre-certification and registration issues in a timely manner to avoid delays in patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure clear understanding of treatment plans and expectations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize clinical access processes and enhance patient satisfaction.


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will require:



  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous medical office experience, preferably in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records systems and other relevant software applications.
  • A strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care and contributing to a positive work environment.
