Auburn, Washington, United States Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. Full time
Join Our Innovative Team as a Lead Software Engineer

Are you eager to contribute to one of the most groundbreaking AWS services? Amazon Connect is a revolutionary cloud-based contact center designed to empower businesses in delivering engaging, dynamic, and personalized customer service experiences.

Born from a decade of development, Amazon Connect embodies the tools that Amazon employs to provide award-winning customer service at an unprecedented scale, now available as a public AWS service.

With Amazon Connect, you can establish your own cloud-based contact center and start handling calls within minutes. Amazon Connect harnesses the capabilities of Artificial Intelligence and the extensive ecosystem of AWS services, including Amazon Lex, Amazon Polly, AWS Lambda, Amazon S3, and Amazon Kinesis, to create a seamless, user-friendly, and adaptable customer experience.

We are in search of passionate and skilled Software Development Engineers to join our team in innovating this new service that meets customer demands for modern cloud contact centers.

This role presents a unique opportunity to be part of a rapidly growing business shortly after its launch, influencing the technology and product as we expand.

As a vital member of our team, you will play a key role in developing the next generation of contact centers, with the chance to design and deliver scalable, resilient systems while maintaining a strong customer focus.

The AWS Applications and Higher Level Abstractions (Apps) group offers horizontal and industry-specific applications for business users, delivering the same on-demand scalability, reliability, pay-as-you-go pricing, and machine learning expertise that define AWS services.

Our group encompasses services such as Amazon Connect (a cost-effective cloud contact center), End User Computing (including Amazon Workspaces, AppStream, etc.), Marketing Technology (Amazon Pinpoint), and Autonomous Checkout and Biometric Identity Services (Just Walk Out, Amazon One) for various sectors including retail, sports, and travel.

As a developer on our team, you will own the code from design through development, collaborating closely with senior technical leaders both within the team and across AWS.

You should possess a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals and practical industry experience, working across the technology stack with modern web technologies, SOA, NoSQL databases, AI, ML, Big Data, and more.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) stands as the most comprehensive and widely adopted cloud platform globally. We pioneered cloud computing and continue to innovate, which is why customers from the most successful startups to Global 500 companies rely on our robust suite of products and services to drive their businesses.

Our employee-led affinity groups cultivate a culture of inclusion, empowering us to celebrate our differences. Ongoing events and learning experiences, such as our Conversations on Race and Ethnicity (CORE) and AmazeCon (gender diversity) conferences, inspire us to embrace our uniqueness continuously.

We are committed to raising our performance bar as we strive to become Earth's Best Employer. Here, you will find abundant knowledge-sharing, mentorship, and other career-advancing resources to help you grow into a well-rounded professional.
