ROLE SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer - Scheduler is tasked with defining part production methodologies and meticulously documenting operational instructions to guide operators through the assembly process. This role involves entering and updating data within the ERP system, conducting labor time assessments, managing job cost information, and analyzing material consumption while overseeing project progress until completion.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Manufacturing Engineer - Scheduler reports directly to the Engineering Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training, and Experience

  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Associate's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • Experience with Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Regularly required to sit and stand for extended periods
  • Frequently required to utilize hand-eye coordination, repetitive hand movements, and manual dexterity
  • Occasionally required to bend, reach to shoulder height, and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  • Normal hearing range is required

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office and ERP software
  • High level of initiative, personal accountability, and planning ability
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering schematics
  • Strong organizational and analytical problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes and operations (e.g., composite part fabrication, machining, assembly, finishing)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing tools, engineering specifications, and customer requirements
  • Planning the sequence of fabrication or assembly and associated composite manufacturing operations
  • Translating engineering intent and drawings into detailed manufacturing work instructions
  • Providing production operators with comprehensive instructions and specifications to effectively produce quality composite parts
  • Researching and integrating engineering and/or purchase order modifications into manufacturing plans
  • Addressing customer and supplier concerns regarding quality, tooling, and engineering specifications
  • Tracking project status through to completion
  • Coordinating and facilitating project review meetings
  • Interpreting and applying quality standards as dictated by customer and industry specifications
  • Communicating with the production team regarding necessary adjustments in planning and procedures
  • Performing other duties as assigned
