Position Title: Assistant Dispatcher

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a skilled Assistant Dispatcher to join our Special Projects & Service Department. This role is essential for coordinating and managing electrical service operations, ensuring smooth execution and profitability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the execution and financial performance of Electrical Service Centers and Service Agreements.
  • Coordinating all aspects of electrical service work, including service calls, time and materials, testing, and quotations.
  • Scheduling service calls and testing dates with clients and field technicians.
  • Dispatching field service technicians as required to various projects and service locations.
  • Maintaining close communication with service technicians, project managers, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
  • Managing the Electrical Service schedule effectively.
  • Preparing quotes for electrical service and testing work.
  • Creating and closing work orders efficiently.
  • Invoicing projects accurately and promptly.
  • Leading efforts in collections and accounts receivable.
  • Negotiating pricing and managing purchase orders for electrical supplies.
  • Fostering exceptional customer service and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Engaging in business development activities to expand the customer base.
  • Handling multiple projects and deadlines while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Analyzing proposals to ensure profitability.
  • Participating in contract negotiations and change orders.
  • Attending departmental and financial meetings as required.
  • Managing 24/7 electrical service calls and scheduling.

SUPERVISORY ROLE:

This position involves supervising service technicians and other staff members on a daily basis.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a collaborative approach.
  • Experience in organizing and managing diverse electrical projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Alignment of assignments with customer and company objectives.
  • Participation in the development of strategic and tactical plans.
  • Innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and projects effectively.
  • Commitment to company values and teamwork.
  • Proficient in analyzing and resolving issues.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of the JATC IBEW Local #26 Apprenticeship Program or equivalent experience.

A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the field.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

Basic knowledge of ACCUBID or similar estimating software.

Familiarity with accounting software such as Viewpoint or equivalent systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This role requires visiting client sites and may involve lifting up to twenty-five (25) pounds occasionally.
