Job Description

At MPW, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for assisting with multiple aspects of assigned projects, including electrical power distribution systems, control system architecture, and panel fabrication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the design and development of electrical power distribution systems, including 480VAC 3Ph to low voltage control power.
  • Contribute to the development of control system architecture, including safety, instrumentation, PLC, and network design.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to understand task priorities and self-manage to accomplish assigned tasks on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain MPW testing procedures and quality control standards for complex equipment.
Required Skills
  • Safety: Follow all safety rules, regulations, and ensure all personnel abide by safety guidelines.
  • Design: Assist on multiple projects to gain industry experience in electrical power distribution systems, control system architecture, and panel fabrication.
  • Programming: Modify standard program logic following MPW's standard programming practices, considering safety at all levels in the program.
  • Testing and Quality Control: Test equipment following developed schedules and plans, communicate testing status to all levels within MPW.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Handle workforce, equipment, and customer relations in multiple, geographically dispersed locations.
  • Travel to field services sites and customer sites as needed, up to 60 nights per year.
Qualifications
  • Entry-level position with a minimum Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Familiarity with 24VDC, 120/240-480V power system design.
  • Familiarity with PLC-based control systems and programming languages.
  • Familiarity with HMI design software.
  • Basic computer and ethernet networking skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD drafting or other CAD software.
  • Previous co-op/internship in an engineering-related role preferred.
  • Familiarity with NEC electrical codes and compliance preferred.
