Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MRF Feedstock Manager to join our team at Wood plc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our Materials Recovery Facility (MRF).

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain effective communication with the Solid Waste and Recycling Manager to ensure seamless coordination of daily operations.
  • Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records, including bale counts, time cards, and productivity reports.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with internal and external clients to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Assist in the implementation of department policies, goals, objectives, and procedures to drive operational excellence.
  • Coordinate training programs with the Solid Waste and Recycling Manager to ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to operate the MRF effectively.
  • Supervise a team of 6-9 employees and trustees in daily operations, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Monitor system components to anticipate and prevent loss of production, ensuring optimal efficiency and productivity.
  • Implement daily maintenance practices to ensure the efficient operation of electric motors, conveyor belts, glass breaker, perforator, optical sorter, eddy current, system compressor, electrical systems, and baler.
  • Schedule regular maintenance to ensure accurate performance of equipment and prevent downtime.
  • Conduct comprehensive tours of the facility to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Respond to duty calls during off-hours if contacted by the county.
  • Assign, review, and check the work of regular maintenance and daily work items to ensure quality and accuracy.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Three years of experience in recycling operations, including one year of supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve operational excellence.
  • Ability to perform complex and difficult tasks with a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Computer proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google.
  • Mechanical knowledge of electric motors, conveyor belts, compressors, electrical systems, and balers is preferred.
