Mechanical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team at Wood plc. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing mechanical maintenance with minimal supervision, coordinating and planning major overhauls of OEM equipment, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our plant equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Performing Mechanical Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and PMs as assigned, and complete all tasks required in our CMMS system.
- Coordinating Major Overhauls: Coordinate and plan major overhauls of OEM equipment supported by 3rd party vendors, and oversee major repairs and overhauls on pumps, compressors, and engines.
- Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment associated with the Pyrolysis process, and repair, rebuild, and replace centrifugal/positive displacement pumps, air compressors, industrial cooling fans, gas/diesel engines, electrical generators, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and HVAC systems.
- Alignment and Safety: Perform alignment of rotating equipment using both conventional and automated means, and ensure regulatory compliance and record-keeping requirements are met and continually monitored.
- Leadership and Communication: Lead annual turnarounds, assist contract support teams, and effectively communicate with other individuals, teams, customers, and stakeholders of the business in a business-like and professional manner.
- Experience: Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience as a plant mechanic, with 5+ years of direct industrial experience with rotating equipment.
- Education: Minimum High School Diploma, with technical or trade school education in mechanical or related field preferred.
- Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems commonly found in plant equipment, and ability to use automated alignment equipment.
- Physical Demands: Ability to regularly bend, stoop, move from ground level to higher levels, raise/lift from ground level, and lift up to 50 lbs.
