This position is responsible for the controls portion of projects and initiatives at the Newark facility. The primary programmer for PLC installations and changes, and adding graphics to the operator interfaces of existing systems. Typically, this position is responsible for many PCT projects and initiatives at the plant site or is part of a PCT project team for a major PCT project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Program Allen-Bradley PLC's using ladder logic, with a working knowledge of the newest platforms and preferred knowledge of legacy systems. 2. Program HMI and MES systems using Wonderware, Archestra, and Panelview software. 3. Provide startup support for new programming and changes to existing programs. 4. Troubleshoot control circuits for PLC wiring. 5. Read PLC wiring diagrams and make mark-ups. 6. Prefer ability to use Autocad software. 7. Knowledge of Windows based software.
Qualifications:
This position requires a BS degree in Electrical engineering or Controls Engineering with 2 years of experience or a related field, Electro/mechanical Associates Degree and experience will be considered. The position requires organizational skills and a systematic approach to problem definition and solution development. Effective communication skills, written and verbal, plus skills to work on a project and maintenance team to effectively execute a project and troubleshoot a problem area. Electrical, instrumentation and control systems knowledge are required of this position. Working knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC's and ability to program ladder logic with capabilities to configure and program these controllers and IO is required.
