Prosthodontics Division Director

The University of Minnesota School of Dentistry is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill a full-time tenured or tenure-eligible Associate Professor faculty position to lead the Division of Prosthodontics. This position will report to the Chair of the Department of Restorative Sciences.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Prosthodontist with a strong commitment to providing an excellent didactic and clinical education for learners at all levels. They must be able to work well with a diverse population of faculty, staff, and students to provide a positive, humanistic, and inclusive environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the operation of the predoctoral and advanced education clinics within the Division of Prosthodontics, including the oversight and management of clinic processes, policies, and procedures. They will also be responsible for managing and contributing to the didactic and clinical teaching for graduate and predoctoral students, supervising direct-report faculty within the Division of Prosthodontics, and fostering mentorship of faculty and students.
The candidate will also be expected to participate in Department leadership meetings and initiatives, create and promote research opportunities within the Division of Prosthodontics, and develop a humanistic and inclusive environment that is conducive to collaboration and the sharing of school, division, and department resources among faculty and staff.

QualificationsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- DDS, DMD, or equivalent degree
- Completion of a United States advanced education training program in Prosthodontics accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA)
- Board Eligible by the American Board of Prosthodontics
- Minnesota dental license or eligible for Minnesota dental license by start date
- Documented successful experience in service, research, and teaching to meet tenure-eligible requirement
- Proven dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment
- Experience and knowledge in digital dentistry
- Five years or more of academic teaching experience
- Evidence of being able to collaboratively manage teams
- Successful experience working with a diverse patient base
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification: American Board of Prosthodontics
- Patient Care: Experience providing direct patient care and supervision of learners in academic clinic
- Leadership: Experience serving in a leadership role
- Teaching: Demonstrated history of quality clinical and didactic teaching with pre-doctoral students and/or Prosthodontic residents or fellows
- Research Funding: History of obtaining funded research and
- Publication: Experience preparing, submitting, and publishing manuscripts in Prosthodontics or a related field
- Governance: Experience serving on or leading organizational or institutional committees
- Mentorship Experience: Service as academic or research mentor to faculty and learners
