About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Direct Support Worker to join our team at Life Works. As a Direct Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives in their own homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support to individuals with disabilities, helping with daily living activities and encouraging participation in social and recreational activities.
  • Assist with personal care and hygiene, as well as plan and facilitate outings and activities.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate with our team to develop and implement personalized support plans, ensuring the unique needs and goals of each individual are met.
Requirements
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, preferably in a support worker or caregiver role.
  • Passion for making a positive impact in the lives of others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with individuals, families, and colleagues.
  • Reliable transportation with insurance, as well as a calm and patient demeanor.
  • Compassion and understanding for individuals from diverse backgrounds, including the LGBTQ+ community.
