Position Overview

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC, recognized as a leading dealership group in North America, is seeking a Credit Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in managing the collection of customer trade receivable accounts and ensuring smooth financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Credit Specialist will engage in the following essential functions:
  • Initiate communication with customers through phone and email to facilitate the collection of outstanding account balances.
  • Document collection interactions in the business system to maintain accurate and real-time records.
  • Assess customer payment histories and pursue collection of overdue accounts; this may include drafting collection correspondence and making follow-up calls.
  • Analyze accounts receivable aging reports to confirm account reconciliations and ensure all payments are accurately processed.
  • Collaborate with branches or external payers to address and resolve any processing discrepancies.
  • Compile reports as requested by management to provide updates on the status of overdue accounts, keeping the Operations Credit Manager informed.
  • Support management in the evaluation and approval of new business opportunities.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of two years of experience in account administration or collections is required.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
  • Detail-oriented with effective organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Excel, Word, Outlook, and internet navigation; experience with AS/400 is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education is an advantage.
