The Cybersecurity Consultant serves as the expert representative within a specific region, leveraging extensive business acumen and advanced security expertise to comprehend client needs within their sector. This role is pivotal in aligning cutting-edge security services and technologies to establish robust and scalable security frameworks that resonate with clients' security objectives. The Consultant possesses practical experience, enabling the design of tailored security solutions that address each client's distinct environment while providing consistent security insights on all domain-related sales initiatives. Collaborating with portfolio advisors and domain specialists, the Consultant will drive thought leadership and innovative cybersecurity solutions powered by a network of skilled professionals, products, and partnerships.

This position focuses on the Threat Management and Application Security domains. Candidates should be well-versed in adversarial penetration testing, incident response, vulnerability assessment, and application security methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Generate business for domain-specific services and technologies to meet or surpass quarterly and annual sales targets in collaboration with account and portfolio teams, adhering to established sales processes for consistent achievement.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the client's security landscape, operational needs, and risk tolerance. Proactively identify security concerns and present solutions that align with Optiv's strategic offerings.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and upselling across client accounts and Optiv's partner ecosystem. Collaborate with internal teams to define project scope, manage proposals, and ensure successful closure of sales opportunities.
  • Effectively communicate how Optiv's technology and service offerings address the specific needs of client stakeholders.
  • Work closely with service delivery teams to ensure the availability of essential domain-specific materials that support a cohesive and comprehensive approach.
  • Engage with various client personas within the security team and other relevant stakeholders to develop domain-specific security strategies and define actionable roadmaps that align with business objectives, budget considerations, and return on investment metrics.
  • Establish and maintain advisory relationships with key client stakeholders by providing thought leadership, support, and guidance in conjunction with sales partners.
  • Foster strong partnerships with relevant Optiv technology providers.
  • Design and implement comprehensive security programs tailored to meet client objectives across technology and services.
  • Initiate discussions by leveraging industry contacts and peer networks.
  • Conduct requirements gathering, analysis, and technology selection related to the assigned domain.
  • Coordinate demonstrations and evaluations of security technologies within the designated domain.
  • Collaborate with internal Optiv teams, particularly service delivery liaisons, to align client expectations with the assigned solution portfolio, ensuring excellence in service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Support marketing initiatives to enhance Optiv's brand visibility through participation in corporate events and effective representation on social media.
  • Engage in account planning, forecasting, and pipeline management activities.
  • Assist in managing and prioritizing the proposal process to create business proposals, contracts, and respond to RFI/RFP requests.
  • Pursue personal development by enhancing technical skills, soft skills, and security knowledge through formal education, certifications, and other avenues.
  • Achieve advanced knowledge in multiple domain solution areas and translate client needs into actionable proposals for Optiv's strategic offerings in a timely manner.
  • Utilize proficient sales techniques to build connections, facilitate meetings, ask insightful questions, overcome objections, and assist in finalizing sales.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of five (5) years in an information security role, ideally as a consulting advisor, architect, or engineer.
  • Technical expertise in Threat Management and Application Security.
  • Self-motivated individual capable of working independently without constant oversight.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic team environment with effective communication.
  • Thorough understanding of the current threat landscape, vulnerabilities, and defensive measures.
  • Strong business and technical insight, with the ability to lead discussions focused on data and technology.
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to conduct whiteboard sessions and other presentations.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in creating and reviewing proposals, statements of work (SOWs), quotes, and client deliverables.
  • Capability to work both in-person and remotely with distributed teams in a decentralized setting.
  • Valid driver's license or government-issued identification.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary within the assigned region or for specific accounts.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Preferred certifications include CISSP, GIAC, CISA, CISM, CCSP, or other relevant credentials, along with active participation in professional organizations such as ISACA or ISSA.
  • Experience leading an information security function or program is a plus.
