About the Role:
This role offers a hybrid work setting at our pharmacy location.

The Pharmacy Operations Specialist (Remote PV1) is responsible for the initial verification of medications and pharmaceutical supplies to fulfill prescriptions issued by licensed healthcare providers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not include direct supervisory duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to professional standards and complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Performs essential duties related to prescription processing to meet SelectRx objectives while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Ensures all prescription and health-related product orders are processed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Implements and upholds policies and procedures within the Pharmacy Department.
  • Maintains compliance with professional practices and oversees pharmacy associates.
  • Guarantees prompt and courteous service from all pharmacy staff.
  • Assists the Pharmacy Manager in ensuring the profitability of the Pharmacy Department.
  • Implements auditing and quality control measures to ensure adherence to SelectRx and regulatory standards.
  • Identifies, evaluates, and interprets prescriptions accurately.
  • Efficiently performs initial verification of prescriptions in the SelectRx pharmacy operating system.
  • Receives new prescription orders verbally from authorized prescribers.
  • Monitors patient drug therapy and recognizes significant drug interactions.
  • Oversees pharmacy technicians to ensure safe and complete execution of all activities.
  • Consults with patients or their representatives regarding prescriptions and medical information as required by regulations.
  • Collaborates with prescribers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develops and nurtures professional relationships within the medical community served by SelectRx.
  • Treats all patients and clients with respect, ensuring confidentiality and cooperation with staff.
  • Participates in SelectRx meetings as requested, including various team and administrative meetings.
  • Promotes the positive image of SelectRx within local communities.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in automated prescription systems.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • High level of interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Able to interact effectively with all levels of management, associates, clients, and the public.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking is essential.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science or Pharm.D. degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Familiarity with PioneerRx clinical software system is preferred.

Certificates/Licenses/Registration:

  • Must possess or be willing to obtain a license from the State Board of Pharmacy to practice in the state of employment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Work is conducted indoors with potential exposure to safety and health hazards associated with office work.
  • May require travel to other operational sites.
  • Noise levels in the work environment are typically moderate.
