Position Title: Field Engineer - Grading

Location: North Charleston, SC

Salary Interval: HOURLY FULL TIME

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Safety Management

Ensure adherence to the company's Health, Safety, & Environmental Program, Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace, and Harassment Free Work Environment Program.

  • Enforce safe work practices and ensure the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of the worksite to maintain a safe environment.
  • Report all incidents to the appropriate personnel and assist in investigations.

  • Financial Oversight

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of project plans and specifications.

  • Monitor the scope of work and manage budgetary constraints.
  • Identify changes in project scope and communicate them effectively.

  • Project Coordination

Collaborate with engineers, owners, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives.

  • Plan and schedule project activities in conjunction with the Superintendent or Project Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress and manage quality control.

  • Labor Supervision

Oversee the daily activities of craft employees and subcontractors.

  • Resolve personnel issues and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Document safety violations and recommend corrective actions.

  • Communication

Foster open communication with all stakeholders, including internal teams and external clients.

  • Address conflicts effectively and maintain professional relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of construction principles and methods.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Physical capability to perform the required tasks.
