Peer Support Specialist

Spero Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our team in Columbia, KY and Russell Springs, KY. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting patients receiving counseling, case management, and medically assisted treatment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide recovery education to patients throughout every phase of treatment.
- Model recovery by demonstrating its possibility and providing a supportive environment.
- Assist patients in identifying their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
- Coach patients to develop their own plan for advancing their recovery.
- Support connections to community-based, mutual self-help groups.
- Guide patients toward the identification and achievement of specific goals defined by the patient and specified in the Treatment Plan.
- Participate in the Clinical Review process and team meetings as appropriate.
- Promote socialization, recovery, self-advocacy, preservation, and enhancement of community living skills for patients.
- Use your experience to assist patients in finding their voice and not echoing yours.
- Documentation, evaluation, and achieving outcomes.
- Knowledge and practice of ethical boundaries.
- High school graduate or GED.
- Must have a history of Substance Abuse Diagnosis and Treatment.
- Ability to demonstrate two years of recovery involvement.
- License: Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of current auto insurance.
- Certification: Must have credential Kentucky Peer Specialist (KPS).
