Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our team at the South Carolina Department of Mental Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide therapeutic care and support to patients with mental illnesses, substance abuse, and behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care for patients with mental illnesses, substance abuse, aggressive behavior, or suicidal tendencies.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADL) and provide basic care.
  • Participate in quality control monitoring and peer review.
  • Identify and address the needs of patients with behavioral/physical problems.
  • Provide basic care for patients requiring Special Precautions, Seclusion, 4-Point Restraints, and supportive Protective Restraints.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work beyond scheduled hours as required to meet safe staffing standards/regulatory requirements.
