Position Overview

As the Aluminum Finishing Operations Leader at Bonnell Aluminum, you will play a crucial role in our aluminum extrusion facility, directing and overseeing the anodizing processes. Your leadership will be essential in guaranteeing superior finishes on our products, managing the production workflow, evaluating team performance, and ensuring adherence to our stringent safety and quality protocols. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, making your position vital in our manufacturing framework and reinforcing our dedication to safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the anodizing operations, ensuring product quality and efficient management of raw materials.
  • Assist in the development of budgets and cost measurement benchmarks.
  • Establish and enforce controls and metrics for material and labor utilization.
  • Plan and coordinate work schedules to maximize equipment efficiency and productivity.
  • Utilize operational indicators to manage product costs, material consumption, machine downtime, and other shift activities.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and that anodized products meet established specifications.
  • Maintain adherence to financial, legal, regulatory, and environmental standards.
  • Support initiatives to enhance safety and reduce OSHA incident rates, aiming for zero lost time accidents.
  • Encourage team motivation and morale to meet organizational objectives.
  • Provide leadership support in the absence of the Operations Manager.
  • Delegate responsibilities and decision-making based on team members' skills and development needs.
  • Demonstrate effective coaching and mentoring abilities with cultural awareness and change management experience.
  • Communicate effectively and confidently present to senior management.
  • Investigate compliance with safety policies and employee relations matters.
  • Engage in the grievance resolution process.
  • Create a culture of trust, open dialogue, innovative thinking, and teamwork.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in management, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Experience managing a workforce of 25-50 hourly employees.
  • Conducted performance assessments and salary reviews, as well as managed recruitment and separations.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities.
  • Certifications:
    • Safety racking, Unracking, Packing REC Solar, ADEC Cell, Advanced Line Tech, Titrations.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving process challenges.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the Plant leadership team.
  • Proven track record of leading change and driving continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with SAP or ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Work Environment:
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.
  • Minimal travel required (0-10 days per year).
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to varying temperatures, high noise levels, moving mechanical components, heights, dust, mist, gas fumes, and extensive walking or climbing.
