POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting inspections and tests throughout the various stages of production. This role is critical in ensuring that our products, including drill steel and machine components, meet the highest standards of quality before they are shipped to our customers.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in metal processing is required; on-the-job training of 3-6 months is necessary.
- Experience with ISO standards is a plus.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Intermediate reading and math skills, including familiarity with fractions and decimals.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify product dimensions.
- Capability to operate equipment for inspecting and testing raw materials and finished products.
- Adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
- A collaborative team-oriented mindset.
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, including sitting and bending.
- Close visual acuity and coordination of multiple limbs.
- Ability to lift light to heavy weights (5-50 lbs.) as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Conduct safety evaluations of workstations and surrounding areas.
- Inspect products at various processing stages to ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications.
- Perform tests on products during or after processing to assess strength, density, and durability.
- Grade and label materials based on specific criteria.
- Complete detailed inspection and testing reports.
- Communicate any issues or product deficiencies to supervisors or operators.
- Ensure proper tagging and traceability of products throughout the manufacturing process.
