POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for conducting thorough inspections and testing throughout the manufacturing process. This role ensures that all products meet the required specifications before they are finalized for shipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in metal processing is required; on-the-job training of 3-6 months is necessary.
  • Experience with ISO standards is advantageous.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Dependability and punctuality are essential.
  • Intermediate reading and math skills, including proficiency in fractions and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Ability to accurately measure product dimensions using tools such as micrometers and calipers.
  • Capability to operate equipment for inspecting and testing raw materials and finished products.
  • Adherence to safety protocols and standard operating procedures is crucial.
  • A collaborative team-oriented mindset is required.
  • Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks, including sitting and bending.
  • Close visual acuity and coordination of multiple limbs are necessary.
  • Ability to lift light to heavy items (5-50 lbs.) as part of regular duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Conduct safety evaluations of workstations and surrounding areas.
  • Inspect products at various production stages to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Perform testing on products during or after processing to assess strength, density, and durability.
  • Grade and label materials based on size, thickness, and composition.
  • Complete detailed inspection and testing reports.
  • Communicate any issues or product deficiencies to supervisors or operators.
  • Ensure proper tagging and traceability of products throughout the manufacturing process.
