As a vital member of our healthcare team, the Radiologic Technologist specializing in CT Imaging performs a range of specialized procedures and technical examinations that necessitate independent judgment, creativity, and initiative in applying ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes, adhering to the standards of practice and ethical guidelines of Radiologic Technology.


Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
Deliver high-quality imaging examinations in diagnostic radiography, special procedures, and interventional techniques while upholding the ethical standards of Radiology Technology.

Prepare and maintain sterile procedure trays, ensuring prevention of cross-contamination. Assist the Interventionalist M.D. by participating in procedures as needed, and support the Radiology R.N. in monitoring patient vital signs.

Continuously assess and maintain awareness of patient conditions, responding appropriately to any changes.


Communication:
Engage effectively with attending physicians, Radiology R.N.s, and Radiologists to ensure optimal patient care, utilizing all relevant clinical data, including patient history and prior examinations.

Report any unusual findings to the Radiologist for further evaluation and follow-up.

Encourage open communication with staff, patients, and their families or significant others.

Maintain a safe and organized patient environment, managing inventory and restocking supplies as necessary. Participate in the annual inventory of special procedure supplies.

Documentation:
Complete all necessary exam documentation, including film marking and patient identification, as well as maintaining accurate patient care and equipment records. Perform clerical tasks related to exam completion as directed, ensuring precise patient records in PACS.


Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI):
Support and engage in ongoing assessment and enhancement of the quality of care and services provided.

Teaching:
Contribute to the education of departmental and institutional personnel in the field of CT Imaging.

Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technologist Program.

Experience:
Preferred two years of experience in Radiology, with at least one year in interventional procedures.

Training/License:
Specialized training in Biopsy and Interventional procedures is essential.

Registered by the A.R.R.T. is preferred. A valid Radiographic license from the Department of Health is required.

Additional:
Cross-training in other Diagnostic Imaging modalities may be required based on departmental needs and job qualifications.

Advanced certification in CT is preferred.
