Agricultural Equipment Technician

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Agricultural Equipment Technician to join our team at American Implement. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing various systems of agricultural equipment to ensure our customers' operations run smoothly.

This is a full-time position with 45+ hours/week, offering a competitive hourly wage range of $16-$40+ depending on experience, plus eligible for overtime and commission. Key responsibilities include analyzing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment, performing diagnosis and planning effective and efficient repairs, preparing reports and forms, and maintaining a clean work area while adhering to safety regulations. If you have three to five years of experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment, a John Deere Tech graduate or equivalent experience, and excellent communication skills, we encourage you to apply.

Essential Duties:
  • Analyze, troubleshoot, and perform electrical and mechanical repairs on agricultural equipment.
  • Perform diagnosis and plan effective and efficient repairs of machinery.
  • Prepare all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments.
  • Follow production schedules and requirements for completion of assignments.
  • Participate in Service Training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge.
  • Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition and working order.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Comply with all safety rules and regulations. Follow safety precautions while operating vehicles, machinery, and equipment.
  • Provide professional and courteous service and present a positive and professional image of the company.
  • Perform other service tasks as directed by the Service Manager or Service Department Foreman.


Qualifications:
  • Three to five years' experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment.
  • John Deere Tech graduate, John Deere Technician experience, or Certificate of completion from a mechanical or industrial arts training, vocational school, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Experience in the use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to operate vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes.
  • Computer skills.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Set of tools to perform equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record is required.
