Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician assists the Pharmacy Manager and/or Staff Pharmacists with processing prescriptions, record keeping, and stock support to Pharmacy. This role is responsible for maintaining shelf stock to ensure maximum product availability and sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists pharmacists in filling prescriptions
  • Verifies and gathers demographic and insurance information for written prescriptions
  • Contacts prescribers for refill authorization
  • Maintains sales records and ensures confidentiality of records
  • Fills out insurance forms when necessary for customers
  • Assists with measuring dosages and labeling containers
  • Orders, checks-in, and stocks prescription medication
  • Processes prescription returns

Requirements

  • Good judgment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to communicate through two-way verbal and written communication
  • Ability to operate and use various office equipment
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends and evenings
