Role Summary:

We are in search of a Phlebotomy Technician for our Laboratory Draw Centers situated throughout the Treasure Valley. This position operates on a PRN basis. In this capacity, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact by utilizing your existing phlebotomy and laboratory technician expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate, under the supervision of the laboratory manager, will be responsible for collecting blood samples, accurately identifying patients, transporting specimens, and executing all associated clerical and computer tasks.

As a Phlebotomy Technician at Saint Alphonsus Health System, you will engage in the essential tasks related to registering, ordering, accurately collecting, labeling, processing, and distributing specimens for laboratory analysis from patients of all ages. You will also be accountable for using relevant software and performing data entry. Additionally, you will act as the primary communication link for the laboratory regarding all incoming requests while ensuring the quality and quantity of specimens sent to reference laboratories and the reporting of results received.

Essential Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Effective communication skills with patients and healthcare staff.
  • Solid understanding of medical terminology and proficiency with computers.
  • Phlebotomy certification is preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital phlebotomy setting is preferred.
