Strategic Sourcing Director

This position is responsible for providing spend analytics, category management, and strategic sourcing for Floor & Decor's indirect categories of spend. The role will involve developing and implementing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and providing detailed spend analyses to identify opportunities for cost reduction.

Key Responsibilities:

Global Sourcing:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned categories and locations.
  • Assess and mitigate material supply risk.
  • Cultivate and govern supplier relationships relevant to business needs.

Spend Analytics:

  • Provide detailed spend analyses and profiles of major categories of spend.
  • Develop commodity strategies that align with commercial initiatives and sourcing agreements.
  • Manage cost for indirect spend through supplier performance.

Category Management:

  • Identify key categories of spend through spend analytics work.
  • Study categories to capture market dynamics, supplier base, and costs.
  • Develop strategies to approach and manage categories or supply markets from a strategic sourcing perspective.

Strategic Sourcing:

  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans to improve quality, reduce cost, and improve delivery of service.
  • Utilize methods such as the 6-step sourcing process, RFI/RFQ, RFP, reverse auctions, targeted negotiations, competitive collaborations, supplier relationship management, and group purchasing organization.
  • Establish strategic sourcing goals based on product and organizational strategies.

Requirements:

  • Understanding of international logistics.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, purchasing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-10 years of global purchasing, supplier compliance, commodity management, and contract management experience.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and globally with suppliers.
  • Strong negotiation skills and diplomacy.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Working Conditions:

  • Limited travel required.
  • Occasional exposure to warehouse environment and moving vehicles.

Physical/Sensory Requirements:

  • Sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, with occasional walking or standing.
