About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager - Aggregates Operations to join our team at CEMEX. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our aggregates fixed asset plant performance, including safety, production, maintenance, and costs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety and Risk Management
    • Ensure the safety of all employees, visitors, and contractors, and promote a culture of zero incidents.
    • Ensure that all machines and personnel are working in a safe manner, and that all operating and maintenance policies, rules, and procedures are aligned with our safety standards.
  • Plant Performance and Efficiency
    • Establish, track, and manage plant performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) for all plants.
    • Work with plant management personnel to address any shortfalls in plant performance.
  • Maintenance and Asset Management
    • Establish strong preventative maintenance plans for each plant, and establish best practices for maintenance procedures.
    • Assist with plant management to develop Standard Work Elements (SWEs) for routine and critical maintenance procedures.
  • Project Management and Planning
    • Develop and maintain Aggflow diagrams for all plants.
    • Work with plant management to develop production and maintenance scheduling plans to maximize plant throughput and availability.
  • Leadership and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain relationships with key contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure high-performance of contractor work.
    • Manage contract with dragline contractor to ensure contract performance and compliance.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in mining operations, with experience in operations and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of aggregate plant equipment, including a robust understanding of critical components such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and pumps.
  • Experience with electrical systems, including electrical motors, is preferred.
  • Previous welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
  • Previous team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Four-year college degree with an engineering background is preferred; relevant experience and demonstrated management skills may be accepted in-lieu of degree.
Preferred Skills
  • Ability to present technical information and data to technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, MS Project, Google Earth, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Aggflow is preferred.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at multiple sites simultaneously, with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • SAP experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Must be able to clearly speak and write in English.
  • Strong networking ability.
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment.
Working Conditions
  • Capability to work extended hours as necessary.
  • Ability to work with standard office/computer equipment.
  • At times, requires working in hot, dusty, or wet conditions with exposure to loud noises.
  • 30-40% travel may be required.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, climbing, and pulling to a significant degree.
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently.
  • Involves office and outside field activities, including walking or standing for extended periods of time.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors.
