Position Overview:
The Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly environment within the school facilities. This position involves performing routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks to ensure that the buildings and grounds are in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Cleaning Duties: Execute daily cleaning tasks according to established schedules, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and waste removal to uphold a hygienic environment.
  2. Minor Repairs: Conduct basic maintenance on school facilities, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing lockers, and addressing minor plumbing issues as required.
  3. Safety Inspections: Regularly inspect the premises for cleanliness and safety, reporting any issues that require attention to the appropriate supervisor.
  4. Building Security: Manage the security of the building by locking and unlocking doors, ensuring that entryways are clear of debris.
  5. Event Setup: Prepare and dismantle equipment for various school events, monitoring student behavior during these activities.
  6. Supply Management: Communicate with supervisors regarding the need for cleaning supplies and assist in maintaining adequate stock levels.
  7. Collaboration: Work alongside other staff members and may interact with students and the public as necessary.
  8. Mail and Supply Delivery: Responsible for delivering mail and supplies within the school, assisting with inventory management.
  9. Emergency Response: Assist in responding to emergencies, including fire alarms and other safety concerns.
  10. Additional Duties: Perform other related custodial tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a high school diploma and have a valid driver's license. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move items up to 50 pounds and perform various physical tasks associated with custodial work. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous.

Knowledge and Skills:
A basic understanding of cleaning products and techniques is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
