As a key member of our healthcare operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and orderly admission of patients, while maintaining accurate patient information and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Register patients according to department procedures, ensuring accurate and thorough completion of admission forms, including consent forms.
  • Verify patient information, including name, chief complaint, and other relevant details, prior to entering data into our electronic medical record system.
  • Prepare patient financial folders and distribute copies to relevant departments, ensuring that each account is billable and pre-certification requirements are met.
  • Communicate with physicians' offices to obtain required pre-admission information and ensure that patients have necessary authorization for scheduled procedures.
  • Explain hospital policies regarding payment of services, collect payments, and issue receipts, while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.
  • Operate our PBX system, answering incoming calls and transferring to the appropriate department or patient room in a professional and timely manner.
  • Ensure that physicians are authorized to admit patients and refer delinquent physicians to hospital administrators as needed.
  • Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff, maintaining confidentiality of patient information at all times.

Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in an admitting office or PBX operator role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong time management and multitasking skills.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency.
  • Ability to demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families.

Pay Rate: $28.00 - $28.00 per hour.
