Deliver Exceptional Patient Experience

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative to provide a welcoming experience for patients and their family members. As a key member of our team, you will facilitate patients' access to care, ensuring a seamless and efficient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of Patient Access activities, including scheduling, pre-registration, financial clearance, referrals, authorizations, financial counseling, and patient arrival/registration.
  • Obtain, verify, and update patient demographic, financial information, insurance eligibility, and benefits to ensure accurate data and financial clearance.
  • Utilize system searches to secure medical record numbers or assign new ones without duplication, adhering to CSMC Patient Identification Policy.
  • Determine and explain patient estimates and financial obligations, collecting funds to meet individual and department cash collection goals.
  • Clearly explain registration and consent forms to patients, obtaining necessary signatures while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Monitor and resolve WQs and Scorecard errors daily, adhering to state, federal, and regulatory requirements, as well as CSMC policy.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED required; Associate Degree/College Diploma in Hospital Administration or equivalent preferred.
  • One year of customer service experience required, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Two years of experience in healthcare, working in Patient Access or Revenue Cycle departments, physician offices, healthcare insurance companies, or other revenue cycle-related roles preferred.
  • Scheduling flexibility and timeliness, including evening and weekend commitments.
