Overview:


Texas Oncology is seeking a dedicated Oncology Clinic Nurse (RN) to become a vital part of our team. This role will provide support to the Medical Oncology Department.

This is a full-time position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5 PM, with no weekend, on-call, or holiday shifts.

What are the responsibilities of the Oncology Clinic Nurse (RN)?


Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse (RN) delivers professional nursing care to patients, adhering to national and organizational standards and guidelines for specialty regulations.

The RN must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual dimensions of care and engage in company-wide quality initiatives. Compliance with the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential duties include:
1. Planning, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and promoting continuity of care in line with established standards and practices.

2. Assessing health status by interviewing patients regarding their current condition and medical history.

3. Identifying patient and family needs, providing education and instructional materials.

4. Offering psychosocial support to patients and their families.

5. Facilitating clinical operations and patient care.

6. Managing patient medication refill requests and documenting the information in patient records.

7. Coordinating consultations, pre-testing, diagnostic tests, referrals, and future appointments for patients.

8. Triage patient phone calls as necessary and document relevant information in the patient's chart.

9. Facilitate communication between patients/families and the interdisciplinary team, coordinating services related to patient care.

10. Assist patients in finding available community resources.

11. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals.

12. Serve as a resource for LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Oncology Clinic Nurse (RN) will possess the following qualifications:

1. Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

2. A minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.

3. Open to entry-level, mid-level, or senior candidates.

4. Current RN state license from the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.

5. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
