Registered Nurse - Oncology Clinic

Overview


US Oncology, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to contribute to our oncology clinic. This position entails providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, ensuring adherence to established standards and guidelines.

This role operates on a full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, with standard working hours and no weekend or holiday shifts.

Sign-On Bonus:
A sign-on bonus of $2,500.00 is available for this position.

Key Responsibilities


As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating patient care in accordance with established standards.
  • Assessing patients' health status through interviews regarding their medical history.
  • Identifying patient and family needs and providing educational resources.
  • Offering psychosocial support to patients and their families.
  • Facilitating clinical operations and ensuring effective patient care.
  • Managing medication refill requests and documenting relevant information.
  • Coordinating consultations, diagnostic tests, and referrals for patients.
  • Triaging patient inquiries and documenting necessary information.
  • Enhancing communication between patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Assisting patients in accessing community resources.
  • Collaborating with LPNs/LVNs and medical assistants as needed.

Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
  • A minimum of one year of nursing experience.
  • A current RN state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Working Conditions


The work environment may involve exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions typical of an oncology clinic.


Physical Requirements


This role requires a full range of motion, including lifting and handling patients, as well as standing and walking for extended periods. The ability to lift items weighing up to 40 lbs is necessary, along with corrected vision and hearing within normal ranges.
