About This Role

This is a critical position that plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facilities. As an Equipment Maintenance Supervisor II, you will be responsible for directing the daily activities of a maintenance team, setting priorities, assigning work, and providing technical guidance and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and lead a maintenance team to support operations in an area, ensuring compliance with current good manufacturing practices (GMPs), good documentation practices (GDPs), environmental health and safety (EHS) guidelines, and other regulations.
  • Ensure the execution of assigned shutdown and/or other projects, providing a positive and equitable working environment that emphasizes the Baxter Shared Values – Respect, Responsiveness, and Results.
  • Provide direction of resources in the most efficient and productive manner possible, identifying and prioritizing tasks to meet annual operational plan and budgetary commitments.
  • Facilitate, verify, and conduct training for employees in the area, including GMP, troubleshooting, maintenance skills, and safety.
  • Ensure compliance with all GMP rules, specifications, SOPs, and FDA requirements as required.
  • Commit to employee feedback and developmental process, supporting Talent Management goals, conducting recognition and disciplinary action for employees, and facilitating employee representation throughout the organization.
  • Submit and/or maintain and distribute reports related to attendance, labor, maintenance metrics, safety, and others as needed.
  • Sustain a clean and safe work area using 6S principles.
Requirements
  • AAS degree in a scientific or engineering discipline with a minimum of 7 years of industrial maintenance experience or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated communication, administrative, and strong technical leadership skills with the ability to interface well with other departments and lead effectively and efficiently in a team environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing plant setting, with good assessment and troubleshooting skills (mechanical and electrical) and a solid understanding of maintenance systems, including preventive maintenance and CMMS.
  • Ability to understand regulatory and safety guidelines applicable to the medical/pharmaceutical industry and industry in general, with experience and knowledge with Lockout/Tagout and other Safety Programs.
  • Interact with all levels of personnel to analyze and solve problems related to equipment, manufacturing, quality, engineering, and personnel issues.
  • Knowledge of WCM methods (Lean, Six Sigma, and QLP) and ability to respond to detailed inquiries and present information to groups and department management.
  • Have good project management skills and ability to organize many projects and priorities as required.
  • Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions, including words and drawings.
  • Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.
