About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Ameristar. As a key member of our kitchen leadership, you will be responsible for providing guidance and supervision to our culinary staff, ensuring the highest standards of quality and service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide daily supervision and guidance to culinary staff, ensuring seamless kitchen operations.
  • Support and administer operational goals, monitoring performance and profit objectives.
  • Produce menu items to the highest standard, adhering to prep lists and ensuring kitchens are stocked and ready for service.
  • Support compliance to departmental budgets, maintaining cost control methods and procedures.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating superior customer service and ensuring team members adhere to company standards.
  • Assist with maintaining established quality assurance procedures, ensuring acceptable health department and customer service standards.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance within area of authority, reporting potential issues to management.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in culinary or related field, and minimum two years of culinary experience required.
  • Minimum one year of previous supervisory experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with fluency and literacy in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism, with excellent problem-solving skills.
