Job Title: Senior Calibration Technician

Transcat, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Calibration Technician to join our team. As a Senior Calibration Technician, you will be responsible for performing high-level calibration work with minimal supervision, conducting independent research, and coordinating daily workloads without direction from the service manager.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform calibration work with little to no supervision
  • Conduct independent research when necessary
  • Coordinate and manage daily workloads without direction from the service manager
  • Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques
  • Maintain calibration standards
  • Understand and apply uncertainties to measurements made
  • Read and interpret labs' scopes of accreditation
  • Work effectively with lab support staff
  • Perform calibrations within a laboratory or customer onsite setting
  • Work at customer on-sites with little to no direction
  • Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction
  • Elite interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes
  • Ability to take direction and learn from feedback
  • Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team
  • 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver's license and acceptable driver history
  • Education and Experience: Required: Associates degree from college or technical school; or six+ (6+) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Six+ (6+) years of commercial calibration experience
  • CCT or CMT certification
  • Extensive statistical background
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office computer software including, Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Advanced organizational and time management skills
  • Experience in PMEL, PME, TMDE, Metrology, Calibration, ASQ CCT, METCAL, GPETE, Electronics, GCAMS, or Avionics
Work Environment:

The work environment described here is representative of what an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
