Job Summary

Washington Hospital Healthcare System is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lead Biomedical Electronics Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Biomedical Engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operation of medical equipment throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of biomedical technicians in the maintenance, repair, and calibration of medical equipment
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize equipment downtime
  • Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to identify and resolve equipment-related issues
  • Provide training and guidance to junior technicians
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical equipment technologies and advancements

Requirements

  • Associate degree or certification equivalent in electronics
  • CBET certification within 3 years of hire and maintained
  • 3 years of experience as a biomedical engineering technician, preferably in a hospital setting
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Working Conditions

  • Work in a fast-paced hospital environment with frequent exposure to medical equipment and potential biohazards
  • May be required to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
  • Good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills

Education and Training

  • Continuing education and training in biomedical engineering and medical equipment technologies
  • Participation in industry conferences and workshops

Regulatory Compliance

  • Knowledge of and compliance with hospital policies and procedures
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements, including TJC and CA Title 22
