We also engage in systemic reform through public policy initiatives both locally and nationally, as well as through our global consulting services.
Position Summary: We are seeking a full-time Workforce Case Coordinator (WCC) to oversee, monitor, and deliver pre-and post-release services for men participating in the Improving Reintegration through Careers (IRTC) program. This initiative is designed to enhance employability, boost client motivation, and improve essential life skills, ultimately leading to job opportunities for men transitioning from specific IDOC facilities back to their communities.
- Collaborate effectively with five IDOC facilities, NYU, staff, partner organizations, public agencies, and community resource providers to achieve career and service plan objectives.
- Manage grant deliverables and support the workforce development curriculum.
- Facilitate community referrals based on the identified needs of clients.
- Conduct client interviews, review documentation, and consult with other professionals to assess client progress and eligibility for program participation.
- Work alongside external partners to arrange job interviews within the community.
- Coordinate with IDOC reentry counselors to ensure participants possess necessary documentation for state identification and are enrolled in Medicaid and other eligible public benefits.
- Monitor all participants for a period of 12 months following their transition to unsubsidized employment.
- Coordinate with partner organizations, trainers, facilitators, or IDOC personnel involved in the workforce development program to ensure efficient service delivery and track client enrollment and progress.
- Act as a liaison with workforce planning entities, NYU, IDOC, Parole, and community partners.
- Ensure successful implementation of assigned program activities and grant requirements.
- Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships within the workforce development sector and network with other program liaisons.
- Track and report on the enrollment of program participants in external workforce development boards (Worknet & JobLink).
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, sociology, business, or a related field from an accredited institution is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in the human services or workforce development sector.
- Specific expertise in working with individuals and families facing high-risk behaviors.
- Comprehensive understanding of human behavior and performance, including individual differences in ability, personality, and interests, as well as learning and motivation principles.
