Job Title: Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant I/II

Join the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant I/II and contribute to the advancement of clinical research in neuroimmunological diseases.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team in the Clinical Research Directorate (CRD). As a key member of our team, you will provide clinical care and research support to patients and clinical research volunteers, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest quality of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical assessment and care to patients and clinical research volunteers, ensuring compliance with applicable licensure/certification requirements and healthcare standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the research team to develop and implement clinical protocols, ensuring adherence to Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct studies according to established GCP, within the SOPs and the Clinical Center's Administrative Policies of the operational clinic.
  • Assist with data collection and management, and prepare and file regulatory documents related to clinical protocols.
  • Participate in clinical rounds and protocol meetings, and provide staff trainings and mentorship.
Requirements:
  • A Physician Assistant applicant must be a graduate from a physician assistant educational program, accredited by the Accreditation Review Committee on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) or its predecessors.
  • A Nurse Practitioner applicant must possess an MSN or DNP or certificate from an accredited nurse practitioner program, approved by the legally designated State accrediting agency at the time the program was completed by the applicant.
  • Must have active, current registration as a professional nurse in a state, District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
  • Must have appropriate certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Nurse Practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Candidates with prior experience in clinical trials, a clinical research setting, or neurology are highly desirable.
