Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team at Dobbs Equipment. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing and maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments to vendors, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and verify invoices, vouchers, and expense reports for accuracy and compliance with company policies.
  • Manage vendor correspondence, including phone calls and emails, to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Attach purchase orders to incoming invoices and maintain accurate records of financial transactions.
  • Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing invoices and purchase orders.
  • Prepare batch check runs, wire transfers, and ACH transactions to ensure timely payments to vendors.
  • Assist with monthly status reports and closings to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Reconcile various accounts to identify errors or omissions and apply appropriate accounting standards.
  • Process remittance information from checks, drafts, and wire transfers to ensure accurate crediting of accounts.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding account status and resolve discrepancies.
  • File, maintain, and distribute accounting documents, records, and reports.
Requirements
  • 10-key by touch
  • 2-4 years of accounts payable or general accounting experience
  • Knowledge of accounting and operating systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Intermediate Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills
  • Ability to follow up on pending issues and meet deadlines
Qualifications
  • High school diploma

  • Excel experience
  • Good with numbers
Work Environment

The work environment at Dobbs Equipment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will be required to work in a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with colleagues and vendors.

Physical Demands

The physical demands of this role include standing, sitting, and walking for extended periods. The employee will also be required to lift and move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds.
