The Oncology Institute of Hope and Innovation (TOI) is at the forefront of providing specialized, community-based cancer care. Role: Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor

Purpose of the Role:
The Nursing Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the performance of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) within designated markets. This role is pivotal in ensuring the provision of superior patient care while adhering to regulatory requirements. Strong leadership capabilities, oncology nursing expertise, and effective collaboration with clinical and operational teams are essential for success in this position. The role encompasses both administrative responsibilities and direct patient engagement.


Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and guide a team of RNs and LVNs, conducting performance reviews, competency evaluations, and training on new procedures to uphold high standards of care across clinics.

• Provide direct patient care as necessary to maintain adequate staffing and ensure patient access to services.

• Cultivate a supportive work environment that enhances team engagement, health, professional development, and continuous improvement.

• Collaborate with nursing leadership in the recruitment, onboarding, and mentorship of nursing staff.

• Organize regular team meetings to address support needs and ongoing educational requirements.

• Manage staff schedules and monitor timekeeping in partnership with market leadership to ensure optimal coverage and operational efficiency.

• Act as a resource for nursing staff during peak periods, ensuring they receive the necessary support to deliver exceptional patient care.

• Ensure compliance with established clinical protocols, policies, and nursing care procedures.

• Monitor patient outcomes and take action to resolve any issues or concerns.

• Work collaboratively with TOI physicians and healthcare providers to enhance patient care delivery.

• Participate in budget planning and implement cost control strategies to improve departmental performance.

• Assist in the formulation, evaluation, and modification of standard operating procedures in conjunction with senior management to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

• Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to regulatory standards and address any identified deficiencies in collaboration with nursing and clinic leadership.


Qualifications:

• Comprehensive clinical knowledge in oncology nursing practices and protocols.

• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

• Proven ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

• Proficient in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other relevant computer applications.

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities; capable of making informed decisions.

• Familiarity with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices in oncology nursing.


Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) is preferred.

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

• Current BLS and Chemotherapy and Immunotherapy (ONS) certification.

• Certification in Oncology Nursing (OCN) or a related specialty is highly desirable.

• A minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in oncology or a related field.

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity is strongly preferred.
