Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Area Director at Sevita. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for managing the operations within a market within state(s) and providing direction, leadership, and supervision of professional and other staff at the program site to carry out operations and ensure quality services to individuals served.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Manage the operations within an assigned market or service line, providing direction, leadership, and supervision of professional and other staff at the program site to carry out operations and ensure quality services to individuals served.
  • Financial Performance: Responsible for the financial performance of the area business unit, reviewing financial statements, overseeing purchasing, assuring billing compliance, and documentation efficiencies.
  • Business Development: Implement area core growth strategy in partnership with the Business Development team to increase census, maximize utilization and occupancy percentages, and assist with new start development as appropriate.
  • Relationship Building: Maintain and foster relations with case managers and referral agents, participating in building relationships on behalf of individuals served.
  • Quality Enhancement: Implement area strategies to maintain and foster relations with individuals served, families, and guardians, and implement satisfaction enhancement plans as appropriate.
  • Incident Management: Implement area incident management protocol, ensuring timely incident reporting and implementation of corrective action, and assist with area investigations.
  • Health and Safety: Oversee development and implementation of area health and safety programs for consumers and employees, and supervise area nurses as applicable.
  • Compliance: Maintain area compliance with Sevita and regulatory standards for clean, neat, safe living and working environments, and assure pleasant, age-appropriate, well-decorated home-like residential living environments, and direct area maintenance.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership, including direct supervision of Program Directors or other staff, work with regional support team, implement Sevita employee practices, oversee area safety and workers' compensation implementation, approve area involuntary terminations, and review written warnings, and assist with employee orientation and training programs.
  • Compliance Oversight: Maintain compliance for area services and supports, oversee area implementation of Sevita compliance plan, and assist with correction orders and oversee implementation of compliance plans.
Supervisory Responsibilities

Directs and supervises Program Directors, DONs, Administrators, Clinical Supervisors, and assigned staff, including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes decisions on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Resolves employee problems within position responsibilities.

Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree and three to six years of related experience with significant management experience in the human services industry.
  • Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Licensure as required by state.
  • Strongly Preferred: ALS/ALF or other Administrator license, Clinical background (LPN/LVN, RN).
