Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team at Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, cooking meals, and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food.
• Wash and peel fresh fruits and vegetables.
• Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipes and quality standards.
• Prepare and cook food according to presentation standards and food preparation checklists.
• Operate ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently and maintain food quality while preparing meals.
• Set-up and break down work stations, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen area.
• Serve food in proper portions onto proper receptacles and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of related work experience in a kitchen or food service environment.
• Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
