Sherwin-Williams is looking for enthusiastic individuals interested in sales and customer engagement to participate in our Leadership Development Program ("LDP"). This immersive eight-week initiative provides practical experience within an Automotive Branch, designed to equip successful candidates with a thorough understanding of the business through hands-on learning.

Participants will be assigned to a training role in an Automotive Branch located in the Central-West Region, which includes:

  • Minnesota
  • South Dakota
  • Nebraska
  • Kansas
  • Oklahoma
  • Iowa
  • Missouri
  • Arkansas

Throughout this program, participants will acquire vital knowledge in sales, customer relations, financial management, and strategic planning to enhance operational effectiveness. Additionally, they will have opportunities for professional networking to foster collaborations with teams in Marketing, Operations, and Research & Development.

This training experience is designed to equip you with the essential skills for a prosperous career in management and professional sales. Upon successful completion of the eight-week training, participants will transition into available Assistant Branch Manager roles.

Note: This position requires relocation for both the training period and subsequent placement into the Assistant Branch Manager role upon successful completion of the LDP.

The LDP will assist Branch Managers in key areas of branch operations, including:

  • Formulating branch market strategies based on market analysis, branch objectives, and financial goals
  • Executing business initiatives to enhance sales and maximize profitability
  • Gaining product knowledge to ensure effective customer recommendations
  • Delivering exceptional customer service
  • Ensuring accurate completion and documentation of customer orders and transactions
  • Managing branch inventory levels
  • Upholding compliance with policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols
  • Supporting employee training, development, performance management, and corrective actions
  • Addressing and resolving customer and employee concerns
  • Assisting in staffing needs and developing work schedules
  • Analyzing management and financial reports, including Profit & Loss ("P&L") ratios
  • Assisting with deliveries as necessary

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally
  • Must hold at least a bachelor's degree by the commencement of this development program
  • Must be willing to relocate for this position, if necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Willingness to relocate, as required, after completing the development program
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Sales, Marketing, Management, Business, Operations, or Supply Chain
  • At least one (1) year of experience in a retail, sales, or customer service role
  • Previous experience in a team-oriented environment, including work experience, extracurricular activities, military service, etc.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in leadership roles, supervising others, or leading teams
