ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Deliver outstanding customer service while upholding ethical standards.
  • Patrol the area to deter and identify criminal activities.
  • Engage with community partners to enhance safety and mitigate crime.
  • Respond to service calls, provide first aid, and document crime reports.
  • Conduct investigations, enforce traffic regulations, and testify in legal proceedings.
  • Perform security assessments, recover stolen property, and manage crisis situations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Comprehensive understanding of law enforcement practices, laws, and regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in the use of firearms, vehicle operation, and maintaining fitness for duty.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Requires physical agility and fitness.
  • Exposure to diverse environmental conditions and potential risks.
  • May involve rotating shifts, overtime, and holiday work as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident.
  • Possession of a valid Washington State driver license or ability to obtain one.
  • Must pass various screenings and background checks.

ADDITIONAL Exceptional Entry Level Requirements:

  • Completion of a recognized law enforcement academy within the last twelve months.
  • For individuals with lapsed certifications, meeting equivalency standards.

  • This position is essential for public safety.
  • Represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 117.
